How does IPL work?

The Intense Pulse Light Machine has a crystal that heats and pulses light, this then is attracted to the dark pigment in the hair or skin. Therefore the heat causes the blood inside the hair follicle capillary to clot. When the blood clots, the hair is then starved of blood and oxygen and the hair follicle dies. After that the hair is not able to grow again. The IPL takes a few treatments to make sure all the hairs in the area are targeted.

How to Prep beforehand

Please shave the area you want to treat beforehand. Do not wax, because then there won’t be any hairs in the follicle to target. The hair must shaved so that there is no hair above the surface that could burn from the light. Shaving in between treatments also helps thicken and darken the hair, making it easier for the IPL to target and remove the hairs.
